Gooderham Building, 1990This is a scanned 35mm film shot of the Gooderham Building in downtown Toronto. This five story wedged shaped building was completed in 1892 and predates New York City's more famous Flatiron Building by ten years. It was commissioned by George Gooderham to house the head offices of his Gooderham & Worts distillery which was located further East down Front Street.
In the background is the 53 story Canada Trust Tower still under construction in the summer of 1989. It was completed in 1990. Almost a full century after the Gooderham Building.
