Your Polaroid has finished developing

Redwood, 2007.

Polaroid is no more. This is old news to most in the photography biz I am sure, but I wasnt aware of it till I started to dive back into reading blogs again. I have not shot any Polaroids for a long time, but I recall fondly in the 70s and 80s my parents having a black and white body Polaroid SX-70 OneStep (took me quite a while to figure out which one it was and locate a pic of it!) and I still have a couple of old ones on my fridge. The iconic tv commericals with James Garner and Mariette Hartley were great. There was something about them. The tactile feeling of the images and flapping them to make them develop faster. Chimping around them in a way not dissimilar to looking at camera backs today. Makes sense business wise, but its an era gone. NYT Blog article here.
