Cancer Care Ontario's Breast Cancer facts mention that in the next year, it is estimated that 8,500 Ontario women will develop breast cancer and approximately 2,000 women will die from breast cancer. There is no way to prevent breast cancer yet, but if breast cancer is found early, when it is very small, there is a good chance it can be cured.
